This exhibition featured work by three women artists: New Orleans-based Nonney Oddlokken of Thread Paper Glue, Oklahoma City-based multimedia artist Aztrid Moan, and Oklahoma City-based ceramicist Nicole Moan.
This exhibition came to fruition out of my chance discovery of Nonney’s artwork at the Baton Rouge Gallery’s Surreal Salon Soirée in 2019, ultimately leading to the decision to collaborate on an exhibition in Oklahoma City at The Art Hall. I chose to include the work of Aztrid and Nicole Moan alongside Nonney’s both to show the breadth and quality of nontraditional artwork being made by women artists at various stages of their careers and in different locations, as well as because of the clear complimentary aesthetics of the work when viewed summarily.
An artist talk with Nonney on February 6th at ARTSPACE at Untitled preceded the opening of the exhibition on February 7th. The talk can be viewed here and here. Check out the amazing press this exhibition got!
